Starting as a online newbie around 1996, I spent lots of money chasing the latest and greatest fads until I found out most were scams. Back then, the internet was the like Wild West and I was like a cowboy. I settled down and started to learn what I needed to know.
About this time, I came to the conclusion that I was learning an awful lot about the ins and outs of running an online business. My preferred way of learning was to bust right in, hands – on in and start as fast as I could. If I didn't get something the first time, it would usually piss me off when I tried to apply the knowledge and it didn't work the first time.
My Wife would always ask me if I read the directions (FOR ANYTHING) – I'd always reply hell no. In my defense, I know this is a "guy thing", but when your bacon is on the line you'd better do it the right way. She also told me something about becoming a success in business that I've never forgot. The key is to do something that you love whether you'll get paid or not.
Now, I love computers and making money online and I'm self taught as far as designing websites, SEO, marketing, domains, hosting, list building, everything that goes with running an internet business at home.
About a year ago my Wife suggested: Well, You know a lot about this stuff, maybe you should be sharing it. We talked about writing e-books that I could charge for, but after gentle prodding ;) figured it would be better to share my knowledge and just help people for the goodness that comes from it. The key is to do something that you love whether you'll get paid or not.
That's how this blog was born.
